All of our reports have been turned in and hopefully some of our hard work will pay off and we will earn some rewards at Department Convention in July.
I also need to give out great big Congratulations to Adrianne Kaplan on another VERY successful music competition. This is a Patriotic Music Writing competition that grade schools in Lake County can participate in. It was a great success and we have some very talented youngsters in our communities!
As I write this, our Poppy Days are coming up and I know we will do great! We have a handful of volunteers and I know it will be a good time.
We have the Fishing Derby coming up in June and our Juniors plan on participating. They are brainstorming on some ideas of a little something to hand out to the Vets. They have also been busy making Memorial Day cards and working on Pocket Flags.
On June 16th our Girls State Delegates will be boarding their bus to start their Illinois Girls State adventure. We look forward to hearing back from them.
As always, we are looking for members to come to the meetings and to participate in some of our programs. There are several chairmanships open and if we don’t have people to lead them or help out then projects or events that might be near and dear to our hearts might not happen. We do have several active members but they can’t do it all, WE NEED YOUR HELP!
