Hello everyone!!
I hope you are staying cool; this has been one of the hottest summers in a long time. Take advantage if you enjoy this weather, and make sure the air conditioning is on if you prefer the cool.
Our Picnic was July 14th and was well attended. I have to apologize for not being able to make it due to a last minute "chore" I had to take care of. I was told everyone had a good time, enjoyed the food, the games, the prizes, and the raffles. Thanks Jose for making this so successful!! The kids enjoyed the giant jumper and the water games also.
I would like to let you know that Linda Regalado won 3rd place in Department for her poem she submitted. There were so many entries for all the poppy stuff this year, and our Unit did well and received much recognition. Thank you all for your submissions. We also received a Honorable Mention Overall for our participation in the VA&R, and in the Christmas Gift Shop. Thank you so much Ruth Stark for your hard work on this, we do realize how time consuming it is, and what a great job you always do. Thank you again!
At our September 13th meeting we will be paying honor to our MIA's and POW's. This is a ceremony that hasn't been done in a while and I think you would enjoy it. Please try and plan to attend. We would love to see your smiling faces.
Keep a reminder post it note that our Installation will be on September 18th, 2010 at the Post.
Everyone stay cool, if your boating, boat safely, have fun!!!
Till next month.
